Munster Open 2009

On the 24th and 25th January 2009, M.W.G. in association with RINIWA and Warpcon will be organising the annual Munster Open competition as part of Warpcon.

This will take the form of a 400 AP DBMM competition for armies of "The Classical Period - 500 BC to 476 AD" This will allow all armies from DBMM Lists Book 2, subject to the army sub period being within the required dates. In addition armies may be chosen from the draft DBMM Lists Book 1, again provided the options chosen fall within the required dates.

Army lists must be submitted to the list checker by Friday 9th January. We are pleased to have Antipodean Wargames Legend, Doug Melville as our list checker this year. Lists can be sent to the following address

The competition itself will consist of four 3 1/2 hour games, two on the Saturday and two on the Sunday. Wherever possible the draw will be by historical opponent per the "Enemies" defined in the army list books. There will be a possible extra 15 minutes at the end of each game decided randomly.

The Umpire for the event is William "Nicest Guy in Irish Wargaming" Coughlan. We hope you will not spoil is deserved reputation by any form of unsportsmanlike play.
